The grade
- Midterm
- One third of the grade
Session 7, November 2 — multiple choice, sat on Moodle, in class, in person, proctored. The exact conditions are confirmed before the semester begins.
- Final exam
- Two thirds of the grade
January exam session, date set by the faculty — multiple choice, sat on Moodle, in person, proctored. The exact conditions are confirmed before the semester begins.
How the papers are scored
- Guessing
- Multiple choice, corrected for guessing
Points start above the number of correct answers expected from answering at random. The exact scale is stated on the exam itself. Answering everything is always the right strategy — random guessing simply earns zero, not a penalty.
- What is tested
- Reading, tracing, and judging code
What does this print; which line is the bug; is this output plausible; what was missing from this brief. Every question type is practiced in the weekly workshops.
- AI
- Not available during the exam
Both exams are sat in person, in a supervised room. Everywhere else in the course, AI assistants are allowed and expected.
Also on Moodle
- Mirror
- Everything on this page is posted on the course Moodle as well
Exam announcements, preparation material, and deadlines are published on Moodle and here, at the same time. If the two ever differ, Moodle is the official channel.
The binding document
- Study plan
- The legally binding assessment terms
In the event of an appeal, only the study plan (plan d'études) is binding — not this page, not the syllabus. The official modalities text will be linked here once approved by the faculty. Until then, this page is an accurate summary of the intended terms.
